Dear Christina, dear american friends,

here at Salzburg, Austria, in the middle of europe, we watched the inauguration ceremony very emotionally, too. We, a group of therapists and coaches and many people arround us, are talking so much about the new chances and suddenly feel connected with America and his people, an experience we never made in the last 8 years. And we hope and pray with you and feel the challenge to contribute to a new community. Let us all be patient and let´s trust in the power of immagination.

Best wishes, Gertrud

Thank you, Christina. As a part of JTTS workshops I truly appreciate your story and what "good thing" it means to all of us.

Your words had clarity, relevance, and truth. Surely, and thankfully these are

Obama's attributes also.

What a happening! Here on the east coast we were also standing, toasting, singing, sighing, hoping.... as the magical events unfolded on the screen before us.

I could just visualize the wonderful community gathering on your island, Christina, and wish your island friends well as we all begin this new story together..

Thank you for your words that put form to what we all seem to yearn for..

Thank you Christina for your wonderful insights. I'm a boomer at the other end. Born in 1961. I do feel the changes though as I grow those gray hairs and see the crinkles forming around my mouth and eyes.

I can't begin to say how I felt the night he stood on that stage in Chicago. I've never volunteered time to a campaign before and this time I had to. I went to headquarters and stapled door drops and rode around town in the Obama Mobile waving and horn blowing.

He won and I felt a sense of the surreal. I felt like all things could now become possible. I felt and feel hope. In the life of our family, in our community, on the planet.

Each day I give thanks for His wellbeing and that of his family.

I look to hear each day what he has done now.

I get briefs from the e-mail lists I am on from the campaign that is now geared towards mobilizing each of us at the grassroots level to help him makes these changes. In Washington and in our own communities.

I was thrilled at how involved my kids were in this process. Debating about who would make the best President. Our girls wanted Hillary to begin with and our Son and I were for Obama. My husband waited to almost the last minute.

Our youngest who is who is in high school wanted to vote as well.

We each feel a sense that this is a special time. In so many ways.

I'm excited to see how our future grandchildren grow up in this world. How all children of any color can be truly be anything they want to be.

That finally the government is returning to by the people and for the people.

It is an unfolding like the spring that is in the distance and I can't wait to watch and be part of it.

Blessings

I was one of those who got precious little work done on inauguration day, fielding excited emails and calls from friends and family in the U.S. and abroad. We have a lot to do as a nation, no doubt about that - but I truly do believe that the wisdom we need to weather this storm is all around us if we'll just open our hearts and minds. The stories emerging from embattled communities -- stories of restaurant employees going without pay for a day to support their boss, employees taking pay cuts so a colleague won't be laid off, and much more -- embolden me to look around and see what *I* can be doing. I'm looking forward to seeing what challenges and adventures the next four years bring.

I am not without my resentments, however. While Congress bickers over an $800 billion stimulus bill that could possibly help us right this ship, one side of the aisle seems to have forgotten that they gave their blessing to an $800 billion war (and counting) that has brought little to this country but discord and suffering.

Peace, Christina!

Thanks Christina for those wonderful words. I am looking forward to seeing what happens next-in my life, in my state, in our country, and in the world. What a difference already from just 2 weeks ago!
I do want to note that I have noted the generational shift as well. My private hope is that my generation and my parents' generation will be respected as a source of guidance for the future. We may all be older, but collectively, what a source of wisdom we all are!
Hope-fully

A woman I know who earlier told me that Palin was the only qualified person on either ticket now says she's hopeful about Obama. Hope can pick us up, dust of our work boots, and get us breathing fresh air again. And Hope can help us find our path back to that $237 billion budget surplus. We've already turned the page. A trillion pages. A hopeful new story is underway -- Thanks for being its scribe.
