Yes, it has been a very hard 6 months for all of us - between the economy and the never ending wars - all of them.

I can not imagine walking into a new job like the President of the United States and not having some missteps.

Sending the birthday cards to wish him well and remind him - we are still standing and he doesn’t have to carry it alone.

There is such a crisis of ethics in this country - I don’t know how you turn that around quickly…or is that just a story I’m telling myself?

Thanks for the reminder that we need to encourage and affirm each other to keep on keeping on…

I have just read your proposal for the birthday card for the president. Wow!! what a great idea. I would love to do that too because, although he is not our president, I think that he is (still) the president of world’s hope. I was wondering in the past days where was the change that he promised…. and your words just painted what I was feeling. I still have hope, I know that you too…. but…for how long?

I love the intention of your letter, Christina! Thanks for putting it out there.

Even if he doesn’t actually hold these cards in his hands, he will feel the collective energy from the very act of our sending them. Just the support he needs 28 weeks into this huge job.

The prayer that I pray for him everyday is - may you be true to yourself with every action that you take. If he can be true to himself, hope and change will have a space to grow.
This also calls to each one of us to do what we ask of him.
This torch is too heavy to carry alone.

Amen! Very well said and I like the idea of sending birthday cards to the President, at least this one. I agree that we are not getting what we were promised - yet. I think if he actually touched and read any of these cards that will arrive he would get the idea that the country is willing to step up and help fix this mess we have. We need to get the lobbyists out of the room and he needs to talk to real people. Anyway it is nice to read your blog, I was directed here through a facebook response.

I was sorry to read about the passing of your dog Gwennie. My condolences.
